Info
“Comfort isolates. Solitude limits solidarity, solidarity corrupts solitude.” (Susan Sontag) A villa in Hollywood Hills, designed by Andrew Lloyd ... Wright? ..., exquisite company, architectural joy, the house rests in the hills, flows lightly into the natural surrounding, great views of the glowing metropolis, we drink exotic cocktails made out of real-looking coconut cups and chat about the latest musical in town. They say a British musician has bought a house in the neighbourhood and does not like to be disturbed while he is working. The show in Los Angeles is the last step in a series of APOGEE previews and features various aspects of isolation and laziness in an urban context. The monotonous and alienating effect of isolated housing is a main theme in the whole exhibition.
