ELMAR HERMANN deals in his work with the complexity of human communication. Using various tools such as graphics, sculptures, installations and texts, he contextualizes the found vocabulary and brings it in the context of visual arts. In addition to fine arts he holds a master degree in linguistics and philosophy and thus uses instruments from these fields as well as other material f.e. from movies and TV. The results are partly ridiculous and partly serious arrangements that have to survive in a sphere between art, theory and pop. Hermann is member of the internationally active artist collective NUANS and has had numerous exhibitions, lectures and scholarships in Germany and abroad.
